Coughing, Sneezing, Wheezing: Seasonal allergens and more may be lurking within your HVAC system!

The EPA states that we spend an average of 90% of our lives indoors where concentrations of some pollutants are 2 to 5 times higher than the outdoor environment. Most of us work indoors, eat indoors, sleep indoors, spend time with family indoors and maybe even exercise indoors. If we are not concerned with the air we breathe within our homes, the environment in our offices and what we may be breathing on a daily basis, NOW is the time to evaluate the indoor climates and spaces within which we live and work!

While the filtration components of your HVAC system help reduce dust, mold, mildew, bacteria and viruses, it does not eliminate their presence fully. Inspections of your ductwork and system by your HVAC company, along with routine cleaning and sanitizing can greatly

reduce allergens and contaminants within your home and office as well as extend the life of your system.

The standard residential home or commercial facility needs cleaning every 3-5 years to maintain optimal system performance and cleanliness. However, certain factors may warrant cleaning, or at least inspection, more frequently. Here are a few examples:

PETS! We are pet-lovers at MediClean, and most of our owners and managers have pets in their homes. We see firsthand on a daily basis (both from our customers and from our own homes) how our furry friends contaminate our HVAC systems with dander and pet hair. This can cause your system to not run efficiently while also circulating allergens throughout your home on a daily basis.

CONSTRUCTION! Have you recently completed a home or office renovation project? It is likely that dust and debris is circulating throughout your system from the construction that was completed. Often new construction will also need cleaning due to sheetrock dust and other contaminants that invade the system during the building process.

ALLERGIES! If you suffer from chronic or seasonal allergies, keeping your HVAC system clean can help reduce the severity of allergens in your home. Many of our clients have stated that they noticed a marked improvement in their allergies within their living environment after cleaning is completed.

Here at MediClean we are family owned and operated, and our goal is to help your family achieve an optimal, healthier indoor climate with our HVAC cleaning, sealing and air quality consulting services. We are NADCA certified, and we provide the highest quality services for our resiential, commercial and industrial clients throughout the southeast.
